1. 2010

   Founded in Toronto

   The firm is founded as a consultancy on environmental, social and governance questions, corporate responsibility, impact investing and responsible investment, brokering impact and risk between stakeholders: governments, investors, enterprise, start-ups and NGOs.

2. 2016

   The WhiteBox Platform

   The firm begins WhiteBox, an R&D platform in data science, machine learning and data frameworks, with the aim of building WhiteBoxes around organisations and the people around them for transparency, accountability and impact intelligence. The programme works with IBM as technology partner and is listed as a start-up by York University’s Advanced Disaster, Emergency and Rapid Response Simulation (ADERSIM) programme. whiteboxplatform.com

3. 2020

   The A.I. Alliance and Yodi

   The firm forms an artificial intelligence (A.I.) alliance to advance the next generation of environmental, social and governance management, and builds Yodi, a stakeholder A.I. that later becomes the first app of Druid.

4. 2021

   Druid

   The box WhiteBox drew around an organisation is drawn around a piece of land. Druid keeps one record per field, read from public satellites, owned by the farmer, graded against each season’s result and shared only with the farmer’s permission. druid.green

5. 2026

   Awendil

   Awendil is being formed in Canada to build and operate Druid OS. Flynn Cote continues as the advisory firm it has been since 2010 and does the work that leads there.

  The WhiteBox Platform provides impact and risk intelligence powered by deep learning, with frameworks of transparency, accountability and trust around projects and investments. It continues as an R&D platform developing the whitebox across the social, environmental, governance and financial dimensions.

• A.I. Alliance

  The alliance was formed in 2020 to advance the next generation of environmental, social and governance management with machine learning.

• Yodi, stakeholder A.I.

  Yodi is a conversational assistant for the people in a stakeholder ecosystem. The name and the idea carried into Druid, where Yodi is the app a farmer talks to.

• Druid OS

  Druid OS is an operating system for nature. Every parcel becomes a whitebox, a living record that any legitimate party can read and write, so that a landscape is measured once, trusted once and paid once.

• Impact investing

  Public and private investors who target set outcomes for social or environmental good, through social impact bonds, green bonds, impact funds and social venture capital.

• Philanthropy and international aid

  Donors, foundations and aid programmes that need to see the impact and the risk of what they fund.

• Sustainable development and finance

  Governments, enterprise, start-ups and NGOs working toward their impact, risk and sustainability goals, and the green, social and sustainability finance that pays for them.
